Harmony United Methodist Church offers two opportunities for worship on Sunday with an addditional service on Wednesday evening.
Worship at Harmony
Harmony United Methodist Church offers three, distinctly different worship opportunities each week. Our traditional worship is held each Sunday at 9:00 a.m. and combines traditional worship elements with a blend of hymns and contemporary music, choir, and children’s message. This service honors our history while providing a comfortable, family atmosphere where joys and concerns are shared openly and visitors of all ages are greeted warmly. Sermons are designed to bring scripture alive in ways that God’s people can understand and connect to their daily living. Holy Communion is celebrated the first Sunday of each month. The average attendance is 180.
At 11:15 a.m. we offer an informal, non-traditional, song-filled worship experience led by our Praise Team. Using a combination of live instrumental music and praise and worship videos, this service meets the needs of those who find formal worship and organ music confining. Each week the pastor engages the worshipers in dialogue as the scriptures are explored and applied to life in today’s world. Like our traditional worship service, Holy Communion is celebrated at 11:15 each first Sunday. The average attendance is 30-35.
A professionally staffed nursery (with an electronic paging system) is available for children from infancy to kindergarten from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each Sunday.
Wednesday Night Live is our midweek service of praise, Bible study, and weekly Holy Communion. This 7:00 p.m. service is very informal and highly interactive. Wednesday Night Live provides the perfect opportunity for those who are new to faith and/or participation in worship. Engaging in prayer and Communion together makes for a joyful experience of God’s presence and power. This service focuses on living faithful lives in a real world. The average attendance is 20-30.
Gluten-free Communion bread is available at all worship services. We commune with unfermented grape juice so that people of all ages and circumstances will be able to share in this holy meal.
